Samuel West is an actor and sometimes a director. He’s played Hamlet and Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Jeffrey Skilling in Enron in the West End, and the voice of Pongo in Disney’s 101 Dalmations II. On screen he’s been in Mr Selfridge, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and the films Van Helsing and Howards End. As a narrator, he has appeared with all the major British orchestras. Sam was from 2005 to 2007 the artistic director of Sheffield Theatres, where he revived The Romans in Britain. He has toured Palestine three times the Choir of London and directed the first full-staged opera ever to tour the West Bank. He is a trustee of Belarus Free Theatre and Chair of the National Campaign for the Arts. In his spare time he goes birdwatching.
